2000
MFSD is established in Milan as law firm. The acronym name stays for the first letter of the surname of the four co-founders, of which two, Stefano Monguzzi e Pierfrancesco C. Fasano, are today the current partners.

2001
The .it Registro at the National Research Council (CNR - Institute for Informatics and Telematics - ITT - in Pisa), accredits MFSD as Dispute Resolution Service Provider (DRSP) on domains registered under the Italian extension (country code Top Level Domain - ccTLD) .it.
​
2005
MFSD transforms into a limited liability company, under the Italian laws, with the exclusive scope of resolving disputes alternative to the Court and tooks out an international insurance policy for such task.

2012
The Italian Ministry of Justice enables MFSD to act as Mediation Centre, with exclusive competence over intellectual property and art and cultural heritage disputes. This is time when the secondary operational headquarters in Rome was opened.

2013
The Italian Ministry of Justice enables MFSD to act as Academy to qualifying Mediators on civil and commercial disputes.
​
MFSD joins the public consultation drafting the Green Paper on Quality of the Mediation Centres promoted by the Italian Minister of Justice (answering to questions) and Progetto 'Court-referred Mediation' Project promoted by the Observatory on Civil Justice of the Milan Court of Appeal (drafting proposals for the growth).

2014
MFSD joins Euro Net Mediation, network between European Mediation Centres, awarded by European Union for the Special Project "Civil Justice' (2007-2013), and is partner for European projects to knowledges exchange and experiences dissemination on alternative disputes resolution field.

2015
Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the multi-stakeholder worldwide entity coordinating Internet's naming system, approves MFSD as Uniform Rapid Suspension System (URS) Provider, meaning as Out-of-Court Fast Track Suspension Body for new generic domains (new gTLDs) disputes. The only one in the continental Europe.

2017
European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) invites MFSD in Alicante, Spain, as member of the Focus Group to enrich, with its own experience, the designing phase of the EUIPO Mediation Centre.

2019
European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) invites MFSD to the seconde International Conference on IP Mediation to speak on 'Mediating dispute involving SMEs'.
​
2020
MFSD awards itself, jointly with other leading entity, a tender commissioned by European Commission to drafting a 'Study on evaluation of practices for combatting speculative and abusive domain names registrations'.
​
2021
MFSD is awarded by the Tender 'E-Commerce 2020' funded by Unioncamere Lombardia to develop case management systems and web marketing.

2022
MFSD is partner of InMEDIATE: project funded by European Unione with Erasmus Plus Program (2014-2020) and developed by cooperation between seven Universities and Mediation Centres from Germany, Italy and Poland, with the aim of creating a common European curriculum comune of International Mediator.

2024
European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) of the Council of Europe selects MFSD as provider (2024-2026) for consultancy services relating to the development, adaptation and implementation of alternative dispute resolution tools in particular Mediation for Bulgaria, Latvia, Malta, Albania, Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Morocco.

TODAY
Following the entry into force of the Italian reform and new procedures for the extrajudicial resolution of civil and commercial disputes, MFSD adopts an updated version of the Mediation Rules, which has extended its subject-matter jurisdiction to all civil and commercial disputes. MFSD, while remaining focused, due to the specialization of its mediators and the experience of its case managers, in disputes between enterprises and professional (B2B), at the same time starts the management of new ADR adjudication procedures and arbitrations, domestic and international, in the field of disputes between businesses and between professionals and businesses.

Yesterday as today, MFSD continues its exclusive scope and task as out-of-court disputes resolution body and academy, research, study and promotion of new methods of access to alternative justice in the field of intellectual, digital and business property. in general, having as reference and studying the positive experiences and the Italian, European and international legal framework, and participating in the debate about them and its growth.

Over the years, MFSD has been invited as a speaker and trainer by public bodies (Chambers of Commerce, Universities, Chartered Associations, Law Societies, trade associations, Italian and foreign universities, European Union agencies), intellectual property consultancy firms and lawyers at seminars and conferences, and has held training courses accredited by universities and professional associations in the field of alternative resolution of intellectual property disputes.

In MFSD's roasters of mediators, arbitrators and experts are listed high-qualified Italian, European and international professionals experienced in the procedures, techniques and methods of online extrajudicial resolution of commercial disputes and in particular in the field of intellectual property.
​​
In 24 years MFSD has administered over 300 procedures (domestic, European and international) for the online extrajudicial resolution of commercial disputes, in particular in the field of intellectual property and art, placing itself among the leading private Italian and European bodies in such field.

TOMORROW
MFSD continues to develop, on the basis of forthcoming legislation, new and innovative projects for the management of online extrajudicial resolution procedures for civil and commercial disputes, and to train professionals in this field, convinced as it is that the effective exercise of the right to access to justice is also achieved through the use of such procedures.
